Flexcraft was born from the newFace project Utility concept with the goal of seamlessly upgrading the critical technologies of this concept, namely, configuration, flexibility solutions and production processes and materials. The project outlines the opportunities that the new technologies afford to the design of the passenger experience via innovative cabin layouts and modular fuselage configurations. Three cenarios were developed for the concept: “multimodal cargo pod” for logistics operations; “airborne deployment” for search and rescue operations; “hub feeder” for general aviation operations based on regional airports and hub and spoke transport.
The consortium of companies and institutions in the fields of industrial design, aeronautical engineering, process engineering and aircraft manufacturing, converges its expertise to develop an STOL capable concept towards a remotely-operated demonstrator, a full-size cabin mock-up and manufacturing process samples.
